ARA KARA

Ara Kara is focused on reworked items of found garments of varying sources and periods - all handmade in NYC - one of one.

Designed by Liz Altmann, each Ara Kara piece is carefully selected for its timeless style, quality of material, and versatility, to be worn as a part of many looks and become a favorite for decades longer.

A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, Liz Altmann’s work as an archivist, designer, and textile artist has been published by Rizzoli as part of FIT’s 50 Years of Hip Hop Style 2023 Exhibition, shown at MOMA PS1, The Queens Museum, and in WWD, Nylon, and Vogue.

“I belive clothing should be sustainable, well made, and empower the wearer instead of harming the environment and the lives of others around the globe.”

— Liz Altmann, ARA KARA
