Vintage 1960s Green Escaramuza Charra Dress

Sale Price: $68.00 Original Price: $136.00
sold out

Remarkable vintage Escaramuza Charra dress, circa the 1960s. This beautifully handmade green dress is incredibly delicate and features hand-sewn lace in white, yellow, and red throughout. You’ll find a round neckline, tiered ruffles at the bottom of the dress, and sweet bell sleeves. The dress is lightweight and thin. There is a zipper closure in the back.

This piece was made specifically for the Escaramuza, part of the Charreria equestrian competition in Mexico where female riders, wearing traditional clothing, perform choreography on horseback. Escaramuzas are inspired by the women of the Mexican Revolution called adelitas.

This Escaramuza Charra dress was sourced from a former member and president of the Charros de San Antonio which owns and operates the Charro Ranch on Padre near Mission San Jose.

Condition: Good, given its age and use. It is a very delicate dress that may need reinforced stitching in some areas.

Composition: Cotton

Size: No size tag. These were handmade to order. We estimate it to fit a Small based on the measurements below.

Measurements laid flat:

Waist - 12.5”

Armpit to Armpit - 17”

Hip - open

Sleeve Length - 20.5”

Dress Length - 45”

This is a vintage item, so it is highly probable that it has been worn before and may show signs of wear. We do our best to acknowledge the condition of each piece to the best of our ability. Please note this when considering purchasing. For questions please email hello@stellaatomic.com. Thank you.
